ABILENE – Hardin-Simmons converted a four-point play with five seconds left to grab a 64-63 win over McMurry on Friday.
Emily Holland had converted a free throw just seconds earlier to extend the McMurry lead to 63-60 but Aiken Semones got the hero shot and the follow free throw for the Cowgirls.
Kylie Flippin led McMurry with 26 points, followed by
Aryana Cleveland with 13. Cleveland led the team with nine rebounds and three steals.
Holland had four assists in the game.
The War Hawks host Sul Ross State on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
