ABILENE – A patient McMurry Women's Soccer Team scored late in the second half to finish in a 1-1 draw with Concordia on Tuesday.

After falling behind 1-0 in the 28
th minute, the War Hawks stayed steady on defense and finally got the break it needed in the 85
th minute.

Laila Brown made a near-perfect cross from the left and
Cate Tempelmeyer finished it off with her second goal of the season.

McMurry held the Tornados to five shots and just one in the second half.

The War Hawks launched 11 shots, led by
Emily Holland with six and Tempelmeyer with three. Tempelmeyer had three of the six McM shots on goal with Holland,
Kaylee Worth and
McKenna Standifer also challenging the Concordia keeper.

Kaitlyn Gustafson had two saves in goal for McM.
Now 5-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the SCAC, McMurry hosts St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
