Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Ray Fink

McM Blanks St. Thomas, 2-0

ABILENE – McMurry Women's Soccer improved to 2-1-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 2-0 win over St. Thomas on Friday.
 
Avery Anders logged her second SCAC shutout with two saves as the War Hawks defense limited UST to seven shots.
 
Emily Holland had two assists, both after ripping shots off the Celts' keeper.
 
Jaelynn Portillo buried the carom in the 12th minute for the game-winner. Emery Kirby brought down the deflection on the right side of the box and scored the capper in the 73rd minute.
 
It was the first SCAC loss and second loss of the season for St. Thomas.
 
McMurry registered 12 shots, led by Holland with four. Holland had four shots on goal with Portillo, Kirby, Haylie Blakley and Abby Little getting one each.
 
The War Hawks resume play on Friday at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.
