KERRVILLE –
Cienna Rodriguez got her first collegiate goal and it stood as the game-winner as McMurry finished off a four-game road swing with a 1-0 win at Schreiner on Sunday.
Â
A freshman midfielder, Rodriguez scored with a feed from
Haylie Blakley in the 44
th minute.
Â
"A good win today against a tough squad," said McMurry head coach
Charles Nobles. "We fought really hard and put a lot of things together we had been working on. I'm super proud of the girls for fighting through and finding a way to get three points."
Â
The War Hawks were stellar on defense, limiting the Mountaineers to two shots. Both of those were on frame and
Avery Anders was up to the task to pick up the shutout.Â
Â
McMurry had nine shots, led by

Audrey Pool and
Emily Holland added two each. Brown had two shots on goal while Holland, Rodriguez and
Grace Singleton tested the Schriener keeper once each.
