ABILENE – McMurry Men's Soccer wraps up the 2024 season with a weekend road trip with a 5 p.m. contest at Texas Lutheran on Friday and a noon contest at Southwestern on Sunday.
 
The War Hawks enter the week at 4-11-1 overall and 2-7 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
McM Storylines
 
Offense Found: McMurry has scored five goals in its last two games, a 2-0 win over Dallas and a 5-3 loss to Austin College. Five different War Hawks scored the goals. More than a third of this season's McMurry goals were scored last weekend.
 
Goals: Anthony Licea, Nick Munoz and Julian Trevino lead the War Hawks with two goals each. Dylan Christian, Herbie Martinez, Trey Castillo, Jordan Katende, Pedro Yanez, Diego Aldama, Arik Phillips and Jiovanni Burnett have one each. Burnett, Katende, Munoz and Licea have this season's game-winning goals.
 
On the Assist: Landyn Snider leads the War Hawks with two assists this season. Dylan Christian, Herbie Martinez, Pedro Yanez and Brian Boyles have one each.
 
Shooters: Three War Hawks have 10 or more shots this season, led by Anthony Licea and Pedro Yanez with 14. Dylan Christian has 10 shots. Licea leads the team with 11 shots on goal.
 
For Keeps: Brandon Walker leads the War Hawks with 65 saves in 100 shots faced this season.
 
About TLU: The Bulldogs are 8-2-4 overall and 4-2-3 in the SCAC after shutout wins at Ozarks and Centenary. Gavin Edwards, Jack Manek and Diego Roman lead TLU with three goals apiece.
 
About Southwestern: Southwestern is 9-2-4 overall and 4-2-3 in the SCAC. The Pirates a 2-0-1 over the last three games without allowing a goal. Michael Grimm leads SU with six goals.
