Jacee Dinkins (Azle, Texas), and freshman
Zoe Aldrich (Fredericksburg, Texas), McMurry University closed out Centenary College's Country Cajun Classic on a high note Saturday, Sept. 2.
They combined for 23 of the War Hawks' 32 kills and put up three block assists, all off the hands of Tiffin in the middle and on the right side, to make quick work of Belhaven University. McMurry fashioned a 25-18, 25-11, 26-24 sweep to gain their first win of the two-day Louisiana visit and for the 2023 season.

Cammie Petree's side wasn't far from a 2-0 Saturday. They took Millsaps College to a 27-25 first-game final and won the second game 25-23 of their match-up. The Majors managed to sidestep the effort with 25-15, 28-26 decisions for the four-game victory.
Dinkins, the squad's top offensive stalwart with 42 kills (averaging 2.73 per game) and nine service aces to average almost four points per game, was named to the all-tournament team. Tiffin finished with 36 kills, followed by Aldrich with 32. Junior setter Ashlynn Quillan (Van Alstyne, Texas) had a strong weekend with 70 assists and seven service aces. Adile Leal (Clute, Texas) joined Dinkins to guide the defensive output, as she tallied 47 digs, and Dinkins wound up with 34.
