ABILENE, TEXAS – Sophomore designated player
Aliyah Tanguma (Kyle, Texas) and junior outfielder
Angelica Abila (Lubbock, Texas) each registered three-hit games, leading McMurry University Friday, April 7.
Tanguma compiled a new personal single-game high with her three singles that helped plate one of the War Hawks three runs at Edwards Field in the American Southwest Conference series finale. Abila doubled among three safeties and drove in a pair of runs. Sophomore infielder
Jade Dickens (Friendswood, Texas) turned in a third multiple-hit outing for head coach
David McNally's squad, going two-for-four with a double.
Sophomore pitcher
Baylee Fulps (San Angelo, Texas) nearly made the 11-hit offensive attack stand up toward a weekend sweep. She locked up the Lobos bats on just three hits and one unearned run over the first four innings. However, Sul Ross State rallied with two-run outbursts in the fifth and sixth and held on for a 5-3 victory, snapping a 19-game War Hawks home win streak.
McMurry (18-7 overall, 10-5 ASC) takes to the road Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15, facing off with LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
