LETOURNEAU SIDE-STEPS MAROON AND WHITE

LONGVIEW, TEXAS – Sophomore pitcher Bailey Fulps (San Angelo, Texas) produced an impressive pitching line despite a pair of tough-luck outcomes Friday, April 14.

She fired ten and a third frames in the circle for McMurry University. Fulps' evening concluded with only two earned runs allowed in an eight and two-thirds-inning complete-game performance.

In the wake of a 7-3, 2-1 sweep by the host LeTourneau University Yellowjackets, head coach David McNally's War Hawks dipped to 18-9 overall and 10-7 in the American Southwest Conference. Beyond Fulps' savvy display of pitching, junior outfielder Jesse Stephenson (Marble Falls, Texas) and sophomore designated player Aliyah Tanguma (Kyle, Texas) each registered two-hit contests. Tanguma did so in the opener with a double included. Stephenson's second game multiple-safety outing had the lone run scored as part of her night's resume.

The War Hawks wrap up the weekend set with LETU Saturday, April 15. A single contest is scheduled for noon.
