LONGVIEW, TEXAS – Seniors
Kinleigh Stotts (Covington, Texas) and
Kaylee Berdoll (Elgin, Texas) combined for three strikeouts of a hard-hitting LeTourneau University offense Saturday, April 15.
After a seamless one-two-three first for Stotts, the circle starter for McMurry University, the visitors got freshman
Miranda Soileau (Houston, Texas) into scoring position with one out. However, LETU pitcher Murphy Williams, for the second time in as many days, got out of the jam. The Yellowjackets responded with a four-run rally in their half and didn't look back en route to a 9-0, six-inning victory.
Soileau and fellow freshman
Bre Barajas (Abilene, Texas) led the offense for head coach
David McNally's squad. They each accumulated on-base appearances, which included Soileau stealing second.
McMurry (18-10 overall, 10-7 ASC) returns to Edwards Field Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22. They welcome the Concordia University of Austin for a league series.
