ABILENE, TEXAS – An upperclasswoman tandem of senior outfielder Brianna Martinez (Yucaipa, Calif.) and junior infielder Grace Duecker (Fredericksburg, Texas) provided big hits in a seven-run fourth inning rally Saturday, March 25.
 
Martinez clobbered a two-run double, and Duecker singled up the middle to drive in four runs between them. Behind those types of offensive headlines, head coach David McNally's McMurry University War Hawks soared in American Southwest Conference action. In front of an appreciative home crowd at Edwards Field, the Maroon and White pitching staff ran its current scoreless innings string to 25 and a third with a third successive shutout, clinching a weekend league sweep of The University of the Ozarks with a 9-0, five-inning triumph.
 
Senior Kinleigh Stotts (Covington, Texas) kept the Eagles at bay with two hits allowed, just one free pass surrendered and three strikeouts totaled for a complete-game victory. Junior outfielder Angelica Abila (Lubbock, Texas) got involved at the plate, too. She tallied three hits in four at-bats and scored twice.
 
McMurry (14-3 overall, 8-1 ASC) takes a four-game win streak on the road Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1. Game times are 4 and 6 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. Saturday at East Texas Baptist University's Taylor Field in Marshall, Texas.
