The McMurry War Hawks men's basketball team took on the University of St. Thomas (Houston) after their week rest for thanksgiving.

The game started with Senior Elias hitting a jump shot to put the War Hawks up early. This was then followed up by an attack from the Celts. Putting the War Hawks behind. The War Hawks were able to close up the lead by two 3- pointers made by Josh Alcocer, to bring the score to 10-12.


At the 7-minute mark into the back-and-forth game Matt Pena was able to hit a 3-pointer to put the War Hawks back on top. The War Hawks and the Celts battled the first half ending with a score of McMurry 30 and St. Thomas 41.

The Second half of the game the War Hawks came out to cut the deficit striking fast and often each time the Celts scored.

 The War Hawks fell behind to the Celts by 19 points in the second half but were able to mount a comeback and ultimately fell to the University of St. Thomas 89-76.

Senior Elias Garcia Led the War Hawks with minutes played. He was able to put 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. Sophomore Coco Rose was able to lead the War Hawks in points, Putting up 15 points. Junior Matt Pena also put up another strong outing by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Senior CJ LeBlanc and Junior Josh Alcocer both finished with 9 points.
