MINOR LEADS FIVE IN DOUBLE DIGITS

MARSHALL, TEXAS – A recognizable offensive theme continued for McMurry University Saturday, Jan. 21.

Head coach Zach Pickelman's team had four-or-more players tally double figures for the 14th time in 17 contests. Senior guard Remy Minor (Chicago, Ill.) reached 20-or-more points for the fifth time this season, notching three three-pointers as part of an eight-for-12 afternoon from the field at East Texas Baptist University's Ornelas Gym. He also grabbed five rebounds for a third time in his last four appearances to lift the War Hawks to 90 points in American Southwest Conference play.

Minor was joined by junior forward/center Elias Garcia (Houston, Texas), who produced a double-double of 15 points and ten rebounds that headlined an impressive number late afternoon, including four blocked shots, three assists, and two steals. Freshman guard/forward Elijah Lomas couldn't have been perfect shooting-wise off the bench. The San Antonio, Texas, native was six-for-six overall, two of two from beyond the arc, and three-for-three from the free throw line towards a 17-point total. Junior guard C.J. LeBlanc (Dallas, Texas) and sophomore forward/center T.J. Hilliard each finished with 14 points to round out the Maroon, Black, and White attack.

While those positives were notable for the visitors, they couldn't swing the momentum to stop a fifth successive loss. Leading 43-42 at halftime and keeping the margin within one possession over a good share of the second half, the host Tigers stemmed that tied by piecing together a pivotal 17-7 run from the 11:19 to 6:46 section to help ensure a 98-90 decision.

McMurry (4-13 overall, 3-7 ASC) returns home for the first time since mid-December to its Kimbrell Arena court Thursday, Jan. 26. Howard Payne University is in town for a 7:30 p.m. start.

NOTES: LeBlanc's stat line helped him close even more on membership in the program's 1,000-point club. He stands 13 away from the career milestone.
