RICHARDSON, TEX. – A two-day classic hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3-4, closed with a loss to Southern Athletic Association foe Rhodes College.
 
Head coach Marquis Muse's War Hawks turned to the underclassman goalkeeping trio of sophomore Orion Patterson (Ardmore, Okla.) and freshmen Griffin Cardwell (Plano, Texas) and Russell Suma (Lake Jackson, Texas) during the 90-minute clash. They knocked away six Lynx shot on goal tries, but Rhodes managed to evade them three times en route to a 3-0 decision.

Senior forward Andres Martinez (Horizon City, Texas) led the offense's six shot attempts, tallying two.
 
Muse's charges begin four in a row at home against the University of St. Thomas of Texas Friday, Sept. 9. Kickoff is 6 p.m. at Wilford Moore Stadium.
