MCMURRY BOUNCES BACK, WRAPS UP .500 WEEK

ABILENE, TEXAS – Tallying 19 of the first 28 points Saturday, Dec. 3, McMurry University managed to even its 2022-23 American Southwest Conference record.

Winning for the seventh time in eight games overall, head coach Drew Long's team used impressive shooting from beyond the arc, hitting 11-of-29 attempts toward turning away the visiting YellowJackets of LeTourneau University. The Maroon, Black, and White built as large as a 21-point advantage before LETU rallied to within single digits down the stretch. The home team's 7-0 roll over the final 2:08 wrapped up the 74-58 triumph.

The underclasswoman group of sophomore guard Emily Holland (Mansfield, Texas), freshman guard Kylie Flippin (Wichita Falls, Texas), and freshman guard Helena Chadwick (LaVernia, Texas) were at the front of the class scoring-wise. Holland compiled her third 20-point-plus outing, scoring 20, mainly due to going 11-of-13 at the free-throw line. Flippin chipped in 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out four assists. Chadwick came off the bench to put up 12 points, spotlighted by hitting on two-of-three three-point tries.

The War Hawks welcome Sul Ross State in ASC action Thursday, Dec. 8. Game time is 5:30 p.m. at Kimbrell Arena.
