ABILENE, TEXAS – A 39-23 stretch in the midway section of a non-conference exhibition match-up Wednesday, Dec. 21, was the difference for NCAA Division I Abilene Christian University.
Head coach Drew Long's War Hawks kept their crosstown foe within 10 points or less throughout the first 10 minutes. From that point, the Wildcats size continued to collaborate towards a 44-23 rebounding lead that helped produce a 26-0 second chance points margin as part of an 82-52 final at Moody Coliseum.
Freshman guard
Helana Chadwick (La Vernia, Texas) led the Maroon, Black, and White. She totaled 15 points with a perfect five-for-five effort at the free throw line. Sophomore guard
Emily Holland (Mansfield, Texas) added eight points and four rebounds.
Head coach Drew Long's team breaks from action until Monday, Jan. 7. They clash with American Southwest Conference rival Hardin-Simmons University at HSU's Mabee Coliseum.
