FOURTH-QUARTER CHARGE KEEPS WAR HAWKS UNBEATEN

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – Sophomore guard Emily Holland (Mansfield, Texas), much like her McMurry University teammates, kept an impressive season start moving full steam ahead Saturday, Nov. 26.

For a fifth straight contest, Holland found herself in double figures on the points chart, joining four other War Hawks in the feat during a 74-59 win at Southwestern University's Robertson Center. Head coach Drew Long's side, moving to 5-0 on the campaign, used the balanced attack and a 13-2 roll to start the final 10 minutes to cement the outcome.

Holland tallied 16 points with five rebounds, four assists, and three steals, part of another headlining sophomore-senior attack with forward/center Destiny Mathews (Palestine, Texas). Mathews made things complicated for the host Pirates in the paint, registering 15 points, nine rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals. Guards Kylie Flippin (Wichita Falls, Texas) and Helana Chadwick (LaVernia, Texas) produced solid numbers for the Maroon, Black, and White newcomers, scoring 14 points.

The War Hawks wrap up a current run of two in a row on the road Tuesday, Nov. 29. Game time at Arlington Baptist University is 6 p.m.
