McMurry University's athletic department will be paying tribute to its 2022 Athletic Hall of Honor inductees along with the Bob and Clara Brown and Grant Teaff Beyond The Game award winners throughout the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 1.

BOB AND CLARA BROWN AWARD - ART PERTILE '83 AND RENITA KING -Â They are consistent supporters of McMurry athletics
. Renita and Art met while obtaining their law degrees from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. They have two children, Krissica Harper of Austin, Texas, and Arthur Pertile, IV of Houston, Texas.
Renita retired from ConocoPhillips Company in 2018 after a 31-year career that included the roles of Senior Counsel, Business Services Group Lead, Materials & Services Supervisor, and various other leadership roles in the legal and procurement functions. She is a triple-major graduate of Rice University (B.A. Legal Studies, Managerial Studies, and Spanish) and is also a graduate of the United Way's Project Blueprint program. While attending Rice, Renita was on the Dean's List, was inducted into Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish Honor Society), served as a Freshman Advisor, and received a scholarship for Hispanic Studies (summer program in Seville, Spain). While attending law school, Renita worked on the Criminal Law Journal and for the Attorney General's Office. Renita has served as a Junior Achievement advisor, a member of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church Educational Scholarship Committee, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Julia C. Hester House, the Katy Area YMCAs, the Houston Achievement Place, and the Texas Adult Literacy Laubach. She also served in various leadership roles with the Houston Chapter of the American Corporate Counsel Association. Her love for God and love for family have shaped who she is and everything she does.
Art is a member of the McMurry University Board of Trustees, the 2018 McMurry University Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient, a 2003 McMurry University Hall of Honor inductee, served on the McMurry University Alumni Board and was the 2022 McMurry University Commencement speaker. He was an All-American in track and won three individual conference championships in the 200-, 400- and 800-meter races and five conference championships as a member of the 4X100 and 4X400 meter relays. He was the conference Most Valuable Player and the conference Freshman of the year. He was twice named as the McMurry track team's Top Performer and twice named the track team's most inspirational performer. He was a member of McMurry Student Government and was head delegate of the Model United Nations Outstanding Delegation. Additionally, he was on the McMurry Dean's list, voted Senior Class favorite, and received the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities award and the Optimist Club Outstanding Youth of Abilene award.
Art received the "Marvin Glink Award" from the International Municipal Lawyers Association. The award recognizes a local government private law practitioner who has provided outstanding service to the public and who possesses an exemplary reputation in the legal community, the highest of ethical standards, and who maintains a life that balances a passion for professional excellence with the joy of family and friends. He received the "Outstanding Mentor Award" from the Texas City Attorneys Association. Art is a recipient of the Frank Fallon "Sportsman of the Year Award" presented by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation's "Contributors Award" for his work with the youth of Waco, along with many other awards for his community service. He coached youth basketball for over forty-five years and is a National Youth Sport Coaches Association certified youth basketball coach.
Art has served as President of the Texas City Attorneys Association and served on the Board of the Texas Municipal League. Art also served as President of the International Municipal Lawyers Association and served as a board member of the Waco Tigers charitable organization. He was appointed by the Texas Governor and served for ten years as a Commissioner on the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. Art has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Government Lawyers Section of the Texas State Bar, Waco Foundation, McLennan County Bar Association, Waco Parents for Public Schools, Texas Sports Hall of Fame and the YMCA of Central Texas.
Art is a Partner and owner of Olson & Olson L.L.P. He has represented governmental entities and public officials exclusively for over 32 years.
GRANT TEAFFÂ BEYOND THE GAME AWARD - MIKE ROSENBERG '72 -Â A Hall of Honor member, Mike was an all-Lone Star Conference gridiron selection during the NCAA Division II days and also garnered United Press International all-Texas Team honors.
Upon graduating from college, Mike taught and coached for Era ISD and Callisburg ISD and then worked for Northwest ISD as an Assistant Principal. He later joined Sanger ISD as an Administrator and after serving over ten years, Mike moved back to his hometown to be the Gainesville ISD Superintendent for six years before retiring in 2005. He was later elected to represent the community on the Gainesville School Board from 2011-2020.

Mike was obsessed with sports, reading books about military and American history, playing the guitar, painting miniature battle scenes, and praising the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was the proudest Papa, showing off pictures and stories of Witten and Ellie Grace to anyone who would listen. Mike was known for his deep voice, quick wit, his amazingly kind heart, and a
lifelong disgust of the Dallas Cowboys.
