ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Tennis added two last-minute non-conference matches to its schedule this week, facing NCAA Division I foe Abilene Christian both on the men's and women's side Saturday at the Eager Tennis Center.
ACU took both matches by a 5-0 final across town.
Although McMurry Men's Tennis (5-6) was unable to earn an official point, it did win the No. 1 doubles match on the men's side.
Chase Daniell and Carlos Martinez defeated the ACU team of Savan Chhabra and Mihaly Deli with a 6-4 win.
Daniell and Martinez also defeated ACU in its last meeting on Feb. 28 with an 8-6 victory.
On the women's side, McMurry (4-6) had its closest match in No. 4 singles with freshman Hannah DeFriend falling 6-0, 6-4 to Ileana Mocciola.
As of this weekend, McMurry has rescheduled its match against Concordia Texas for Sunday at 1 p.m. in Austin.
The War Hawks will wrap up the regular season by welcoming Howard Payne to town on Saturday, April 24 at 2 p.m.
