ALPINE, Texas – McMurry Women's Soccer punched its ticket to the American Southwest Conference tournament on Saturday afternoon, battling to a scoreless draw against Sul Ross State to close the regular season in Alpine, Texas.
The War Hawks finished 2-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play, locking up the fourth and final seed in the ASC West Division. The Lobos also made the postseason, finishing 2-2-2 both overall and in ASC games to finish third.
With the result, McMurry will take on ASC East Division winner UT Dallas (5-0, 5-0) in Richardson, Texas on Thursday, April 1 in the quarterfinal round. Time and date is subject to change and will be confirmed early next week.
In Saturday's matinee, McMurry had a 14-6 shot advantage over the Lobos, but neither team could find the twine. The War Hawks put six shots on net, while Sul Ross State totaled four.
