MARSHALL, Texas – McMurry University Baseball suffered a tough loss in American Southwest Conference play Saturday afternoon, falling 15-5 against East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas.
The War Hawks fall to 2-14 overall and 1-11 in the conference, while the Tigers moved to 15-6, 10-2.
The Tigers led the battle from start to finish, as they would post two runs in the first inning followed by one score in the second and a six-run inning in the third.
Fighting an uphill battle, McMurry would see its first run cross the plate in the third inning. Senior
Sam Hillyer would send one out the park to record a two RBI homer in the top of the fourth but the War Hawks would not score again until the seventh inning.
The Tigers added six additional runs in the bottom of the seventh to close out the matchup for a the three-game sweep over the War Hawks.

Blake Beach both tallied one RBI on the day while
Ryan Potter added a triple in the bout as well.
