RICHARDSON, Texas – McMurry University Women's Tennis dropped its second consecutive match Friday afternoon, falling 9-0 at UT Dallas.
Junior Gabrielle Ellwanger and senior Neah Garza teamed up at number two doubles, and nearly pulled off the win before dropping the set, 8-6.
Ellwanger also battled at number three singles, playing a close set one, but came up short, 7-5. She lost set two, 6-1.
At number six singles, freshman Hope Turner went to a tiebreak in the first set, but UTD came out on top with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win to complete the sweep of McM.
McMurry stays on the road as the War Hawks travel to Orlando, Florida, for three matches over spring break. Their first match will be March 9 against Curry College at 10:30 a.m. central time.
