RICHARDSON, Texas – Senior Carlos Martinez scored twice for McMurry Men's Tennis Friday afternoon, but the War Hawks came up short at UT Dallas, 7-2.

Martinez partnered with sophomore Chase Daniell at number one doubles, where they won in a tiebreak over the Comets. The War Hawks took the tiebreak point 9-7 to earn the 8-7 set win.

At number one singles, Martinez went to a tiebreak once again in his first set. He won that tiebreaker, as well, 7-4, and won the match 7-6, 6-3.

Daniell fought hard at number two singles, but fell 6-3, 7-5. Junior Joseph Diaz had a similar score at number five singles, falling 6-2, 7-5.

McMurry will continue to head east as it travels to Orlando, Florida, for three matches over spring break. First up for McM is Curry College March 9 at 10:30 a.m. central.
