ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Tennis blanked visiting University of the Ozarks 6-0 Sunday at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center.
The final three matches were not played due to weather and the outcome already decided.
The War Hawks (6-1) have now won four matches in a row, and are still unbeaten vs NCAA III competition.
McM had a close call at number one doubles, where junior Claire Hillyer and freshman Hope Turner escaped with an 8-7 (3) victory. Junior Gabrielle Ellwanger and senior Neah Garza had no trouble at number two doubles, winning 8-1.
Juniors Morgan Parnell and Kiara Jones completed the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win at number three.
Hillyer and Garza rolled through their matches at numbers one and two, with Hillyer winning 6-1, 6-0 and Garza 6-2, 6-1, respectively.
Ellwanger won 6-3, 6-3 at number three for the final point before the rain prevented the final three matches from being played.
McM next travels to Southwestern for a matchup with the Pirates February 29.
