Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Daily scores four times in win over Wildcats

ABILENE, Texas – The offensive outburst continued for McMurry Women's Soccer Saturday, as the War Hawks collected a 7-0 win over visiting Louisiana College at Wilford Moore Stadium.

Freshman forward Alyssa Daily led the attack, scoring four times, bringing her season total to nine. Held off the board for the first half of the half, goals came in bunches for McMurry and Daily.

Daily found the back of the net for the first time in the 25th minute, and then once again just two minutes later. She completed the hat trick less than 10 minutes later in the 35th minute after scoring on an assist by sophomore forward Abril Aguayo.

Freshman striker Madison Ayres kept the goals coming just before the break, scoring her first career goal in the 41st minute. Victoria Reyes and Brianna Pina assisted on the goal.

The War Hawks tallied 13 shots in the first half, including six on goal. McMurry attempted even more in the second half, tallying 17 shots, eight on goal, to outshoot the Wildcats 30-3.

That led to three second half goals, the first by way of sophomore defender Kate Holland, who put one past the keeper with her left foot after passes by Bri Caudle and Sky Reynolds.

Daily then added her fourth goal in the 59th minute. To complete the scoring, the War Hawks got an own goal after the Wildcats unintentionally headed in an McM corner.

Louisiana College was held without a corner kick opportunity, compared to 10 chances for the War Hawks. McM controlled the time of possession, as well, having the ball 57 percent of the time, including 78 percent of that time in the attacking zone.

Senior goalkeeper Jordan Gregory picked up the only save for McMurry in the first half, before giving way to Cindy Villasana and Ashley Ray.

The War Hawks take their unbeaten record on the road next week, visiting LeTouneau Thursday and East Texas Baptist Saturday.
