ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Tennis freshman Taryn Fambrough came up just short in the championship match of Flight C singles at the ITA Regional this weekend, and finished as the runner up in her flight.
Sister Tristyn Fambrough also competed in Flight C singles, but was defeated in the semifinals.
In Flight A doubles, the duo of Claire Hillyer and Hope Turner advanced to the quarterfinals, but were defeated 8-2 by the top seeded duo from UT Dallas.
Turner and sophomore Kylie Long each won their quarterfinal matches in the Flight B singles consolation bracket, but both were defeated in the semifinal round.
In the Flight A singles consolation bracket, Neah Garza won her second round match and a three-set battle in the quarterfinals, but fell short in the semifinals. Also in the Flight A consolation bracket, Morgan Parnell defeated teammate Gabrielle Ellwanger in the quarterfinals in three sets. Parnell the dropped her semifinal match.
The tournament concludes the fall portion of the schedule for the War Hawks, who will resume activity in the spring.
