DALLAS, Texas – McMurry University Volleyball split the first day of the University of Dallas tournament Friday, sweeping Schreiner University before falling to the host University of Dallas.

The War Hawks return to action Saturday to take on Millsaps College and Alfred University at noon and 2 p.m., respectively.

McMurry 3, Schreiner 0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-20)

The War Hawks swept the Mountaineers for the second time this week and defeated them for the third time overall this season, in their opening match of the weekend.

Freshman outside hitter Sharanda Anderson tallied her first career double-double in just two sets, as she racked up 13 digs and 10 kills. McMurry got other numerous contributions from freshmen, as well, as defensive specialists Adile Leal and Chloe Mayfield combining for 20 digs, led by Leal's 13.
