JACKSON, Miss. – McMurry University Softball was defeated 9-1 in its series finale at Belhaven University Saturday afternoon.

The Blazers (12-17, 7-11 ASC) scored all nine runs in the first inning on five hits and taking advantage of three McMurry errors.

McMurry (10-19, 5-13 ASC) got a run back in the third on an RBI single by shortstop Mikayla Krause. Krause had two hits on the afternoon.

The War Hawks collected seven hits, with each of the top four in the lineup tallying one apiece.

Hope Schoeneman finished the game in relief of starter Cheyenne West, allowing three runs on four hits in 3.2 innings with a strikeout.

The War Hawks return home April 12-13 to host Louisiana College.
