ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Tennis rallied from a 4-2 deficit to win the final three points in a 5-4 victory over LeTourneau University Saturday at the Abilene Country Club. The win marked the third in a row for the War Hawks.

Down to with three matches to play, Neah Garza won at number four singles 6-2, 6-3 to bring the War Hawks within one. Briana Perez tied the match with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 win at number six, setting up the final match at number five.

Zayra Gomez stepped up to the plate, and delivered at 6-1, 6-2 victory and seal the comeback for the War Hawks.

Samantha Ritz had a three set win at number one, winning 6-4 in set one before LeTourneau evened it with a 6-2 win in set two. Ritz took the decisive third set, 10-8.

In doubles, Garza and Gabrielle Ellwanger earned McMurry's only point at number three with an 8-5 win.

McMurr will have two weeks off before welcoming Connecticut College to the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center March 17 at 1 p.m.
