ABILENE, Texas – Head Coach Bryan Rainwater picked up his first career win Saturday evening, as McMurry University Women's Tennis topped George Fox University 8-1 after falling 9-0 to Southwestern University earlier in the morning at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center.
The War Hawks will host University of the Ozarks February 24 at 9 a.m. in their next match.

Samantha Ritz and Kaityln Roberts nearly pulled out the victory at number one doubles, falling by the slim margin of 9-7.
In singles action, Claire Huffine went three sets at number two. After dropping a tightly contested first set, 7-6, Huffine took command in set two, winning 6-1. In the ultimate set, Esther Bowers of the Pirates prevailed, 10-4.
Briana Perez fought at number six singles before dropping her flight, 6-3, 6-4.

The War Hawks took control early in doubles play, sweeping all three flights. Ritz and Roberts took the number one flight, 8-5, while Huffine and Zayra Gomez claimed the win at number two, 8-4. Gabrielle Ellwanger and Neah Garza also had an 8-4 win at number three.
With a lead in hand, Ritz and Huffine sealed the win with 6-4, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 wins at number one and two, respectively.
Garza took the win at number four, 6-2, 6-1, with Perez taking the victory at number six, 6-2, 6-4. Gomez won the final match of the day at number five, 6-1, 7-5.
