ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Men's Soccer will look to get back on track this week at Wilford Moore Stadium after a pair of losses last week on the road.
The War Hawks will host visiting University of Texas at Dallas Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and the University of the Ozarks Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Live stats and video links will be available at mcmurrysports.com. Play-by-play commentary will also be available for both broadcasts.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: McMurry suffered its first two conference losses of the year last week at LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist. The War Hawks fell behind 2-0 in each game before scoring a late goal in each, dropping both contests, 2-1.
SAME FACE, NEW PLACE: Head Coach Mike Lambeck will face his former team in the Eagles, where he was an assistant coach the previous three seasons before taking over the War Hawks program last spring.
3: McM has scored at least three goals in all five of its wins. In the five losses, the War Hawks have scored two goals or less. They have scored four and five goals twice each.
9: Freshman goalkeeper recorded a career-high nine saves in the loss at East Texas Baptist. The nine saves are the most by an McM keeper this season.
ASC LEADERS: The War Hawks are tied for first in goals per game (2.50) and lead the conference in assists per game (1.80). Individually, senior forward Javi Mejia remains second overall with 17 points and first in assists with five. Miguel Esteban Jr. is second with eight goals.
SCOUTING UTD: The Comets enter the matchup sporting a 7-3-2, 1-1-2 ASC record after a loss and two ties in their previous three games. Jovi Munoz leads the Comets' offense with 13 points on six goals and one assist. Two others have scored nine points.
SCOUTING OZARKS: The Eagles are coming off a pair of big home wins last week and have won seven of their last eight games en route to a 7-2-1, 3-1 ASC record. Drew Mott and Charleus Emmanuel Ritch have each scored five goals to lead the Eagles, with Mott adding five assists, as well.
