ABILENE, Texas – After being on the road for the first two weeks of the season, McMurry University returns home to Kimbrell Arena to face Schreiner University Wednesday at 6 p.m. for its home opener. The War Hawks also begin American Southwest Conference play this week, traveling to Sul Ross State University for a 7 p.m. matchup Friday with the Lobos.

Last Week: The War Hawks went 4-0 once again, this time at the Austin College Invitational. They defeated LeTourneau (3-0), Paul Quinn College (3-0), Linfield (3-0) and host Austin College.
Lone Unbeaten: McMurry is the lone unbeaten team in the American Southwest Conference at 8-0. Belhaven, Hardin-Simmons, UT-Tyler and Mary Hardin-Baylor each have one loss.
Home Openers: The War Hawks have won their last seven home openers.
Top of the Charts: Although no conference games have been played, the War Hawks find themselves near the top in a number of categories among ASC teams. The War Hawks are first in opponent's hitting percentage (.068), assists per set (13.04), and kills per set (14.29). James Shines: Junior setter
Emarie James had a double-double of 39 assists and 24 digs in the four-set win over Austin College. She also had 21 assists in the sweep over Linfield. For the weekend, James averaged 7.08 assists and 2.83 digs per set.
About Schreiner: The Mountaineers are off to a 1-7 start this season. Their one win is a 3-0 victory over ASC foe Louisiana College. McMurry leads the series 26-13, including 15 consecutive wins.
About Sul Ross: The War Hawks lead the all-time series 38-5 with the Lobos. The Lobos are 1-3 on the season, with the win coming against Paul Quinn College. Two other common opponents thus far include LeTourneau and Austin College, both of whom the War Hawks defeated. The Lobos play their ASC opener tonight when they host Howard Payne.
