War Hawks Lap the Lobos, 80-42

ABILENE, Texas -  McMurry University's women's basketball team clinched its first winning regular season record since the 2011-12 campaign, by crushing Sul Ross State University, 80-42, at Kimbrell Arena. The War Hawks improved to 13-10 overall (11-5 ASC), with just next Saturday's regular season finale at Hardin-Simmons University remaining on the schedule.

Sophomore Skyler Reyna was a one-woman wrecking crew unleashed upon the Lobos (6-17, 4-11 ASC).  Reyna had game leading totals in both points (20) and rebounds (19), for her 13th double-double of the year. She was 7-of-14 from the field, sitting out the bulk of the fourth quarter.

Junior Mackenzie Kimball came off the bench to tally a career-best 19 points, on a 9-for-15 shooting performance. Kimball grabbed seven rebounds and had a blocked shot, as well.

Monica Jones – who also came off the McM bench – was her team's only other double-figure scorer with 11 points. Jones had two assists and three steals. McMurry's reserves more than doubled up on the Lobos' subs in scoring, 44-21.

Sophomore guard Isabel Carrion added eight points and three assists.  Senior teammate Sham Hunter – playing her final home game – had six points, but pulled down 12 rebounds and made a game-leading four steals.

Freshman Dominique Machuca and Britney Beaver matched Hunter's six points in the books. London Weilert and Chyna Washington each tallied two points to round out the War Hawks' scoring.

McMurry dominated SRSU on the glass by a 55-42 margin. The War Hawks' defense also forced the Lobos into 21 turnovers, converted into 32 points by McM.
