ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Men's Soccer is coming off a thrilling overtime win over Hardin-Simmons University to propel them into the American Southwest Conference Tournament hoping the win can give them momentum heading into the tournament.

The War Hawks will travel to University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Tuesday at 8 p.m. for their quarterfinal matchup. No admission will be charged to attend the match. Live stat and video links will be available at mcmurrysports.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: McMurry defeated Hardin-Simmons Saturday for Senior Night 1-0 in overtime to get into the ASC Tournament and then defeated Southwestern Adventist Sunday, 8-0.

2004: The War Hawks are making their first appearance in the ASC Tournament since 2004, when they finished as the runner-up.

LAST TIME THEY MET: McMurry rallied for two second-half goals at UMHB and played to a 2-2 tie on October 20.

DEFENSE STEPS UP: The War Hawks have posted back-to-back shutouts in wins over Hardin-Simmons and Southwestern Adventist. The War Hawks will want that trend to continue, as UMHB led the ASC in numerous offensive categories.

8 IS GREAT: The War Hawks scored eight goals in their win over Southwestern Adventist on Sunday. Miguel Esteban Jr. led the way with two goals while six War Hawks recorded one goal.

ASC BRACKET: The War Hawks enter the match as the seventh seed against the second-seeded Crusaders. On the War Hawks' half of the bracket, number four seed East Texas Baptist will host the fifth seed, University of the Ozarks. UT Dallas earned the top seed on the other half of the bracket and will host eighth-seeded Hardin-Simmons. Concordia Texas received the third seed and will host sixth-seeded LeTourneau. The semifinals and final will be held at UT Dallas Friday and Sunday.
