SHERMAN, Texas – The McMurry University women's tennis team extended its school-record winning streak to nine matches, thanks to its 5-4 non-conference win over Austin College at the Russell Tennis Center. On the year, the War Hawks are 9-4 and the Kangaroos fell to 6-6 overall.

Chloe Patterson and sophomore
Briana Perez teamed up to knock off the Kangaroos' tandem of Kate Willis and Magan Green, 8-2.
Patterson also led the War Hawks' assault in singles action, taking four of five matches to gain the team win. Patterson made short work of AC's Kirsten Weber, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Patterson improved her personal record to 7-5 (all at No. 1 singles).
At No. 3 singles, McM sophomore
Samantha Ritz extended her personal win skein in singles to 10 matches, defeating Austin College's Grace Ortiz, 6-2, 6-3. The win was also a team-best 11th (11-2) of the year for Ritz in singles play.
Sophomores
Zayra Gomez and Perez were victorious at the Nos. 4 and 6 positions, respectively. Gomez defeated Green (6-2, 6-1) and Perez topped Brenna McCown (6-4, 6-0).
At No. 5 singles, sophomore
Symphony Munoz dropped a tough three-set decision to Willis. Munoz won the first set, 7-6, but dropped the second, 6-4, and the tie-breaker third (10-8).
