ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University's women's tennis team was shutout by nationally-ranked Trinity University, 9-0, in a non-conference match at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center. The War Hawks fell to 0-3 on the year, while the NCAA Division III No. 23-ranked Tigers improved to 2-1.
In doubles, McM's best battle came at the No. 1 match, with the War Hawks' tandem of
Bree Brosig and
Samantha Ritz on the court. The duo dropped a tough 9-8 (8-6) battle versus TU's Marie Lutz and Mary Kaffen.
In singles, the Tigers won all six matches in straight sets. However, in the No. 6 bout, McMurry senior
Gabby Camacho had a strong fight. Camacho lost a gritty first set, 7-6 (7-4), before losing the second set, 6-2.
