ABILENE, Texas - McMurry University women's soccer gave up two early goals and it proved too much, as the squad lost a 2-0 decision to Concordia University-Texas in an American Southwest Conference match at Wilford Moore Stadium.
The Tornados (9-7, 5-6 ASC) scored off a corner kick in the sixth minute and added another goal in the 11
th minute. That constituted all of the scoring for the evening, as the War Hawks defense stiffened.
The War Hawks (3-13, 1-10 ASC) were out-shot by the CUTX, 15-7 overall and 9-2 on-goal. The War Hawks out-shot CUTX 4-2 in the second half.
McM starting goalkeeper
Jordan Gregory had six saves and was charged with both Tornado goals. Freshman
Cindy Villasana took over in goal for the War Hawks in the second half, making one save.
Alexa Aranda and
Cristen Lumbreras each had a pair of shot attempts for McMurry. Both of Aranda's tries were on-goal.
