Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – After giving up a pair of first half goals, the McMurry University men's soccer team tried to battle back but could not avoid the 2-0 shutout at Belhaven University in a non-conference bout. The War Hawks fell to 3-4-1, while the Blazers improved to 2-4-1.
 
The loss also snapped a three-match unbeaten skein by McMurry.
 
In the first half, BU out-shot the McM team by a 13-1 margin, leading to the 2-0 lead at the intermission. But the second half would see McM respond with five shot attempts (while the Blazers managed seven). For the match, BU held a 20-6 advantage in shot attempts.
 
McMurry goalkeeper Alex Chavez was charged with both BU goals. Chavez managed four saves. McM put two shots on goal versus the Blazers, both of which were saved.
 
Rafael Lara had two shot attempts, with one on goal. Jesus Sanchez put one shot directly on goal, as well.
