McM's Path to Victory Blocked by UMHB

ABILENE, Texas – In a battle of American Southwest Conference volleyball divisional co-leaders, McMurry University was swept by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at Kimbrell Arena.  The War Hawks (7-4, 2-1 ASC) fell by scores of 14-25, 19-25, 18-25 to the Crusaders (8-3, 3-0 ASC).

McM 's attack struggled, managing just a .044 attack average for the three sets. The War Hawks' found it tough going versus the Crusaders' front line, which amassed 11 team blocks. That – combined with eight ball handling errors by the McMurry – resulted in a long night for the Maroon & White.

Jasmine Jones led the War Hawks with seven kills, while teammate Jordyn Burnell added six kills.  Justice McGowan had five kills and two blocks, while Baylie Barnes and Katy Headrick had four kills each.

Setters Madison Fatheree and Emarie James had 12 and 11 assists, respectively. Fatheree also served up two of McM's three aces in the match.

Sophomore libero Odalis Rodriguez had a match-leading 13 digs, as well as one ace. Fatheree had five digs and Jones four.
