ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University women's soccer dropped an American Southwest Conference contest to the University of Texas-Tyler, 6-0, at Wilford Moore Stadium.
McM kept things close, trailing the experienced UTT squad just 2-0 at the intermission. However, a four-goal second half erased any McMurry hopes for a comeback.
The War Hawks (0-6, 0-2 ASC) were unable to answer UTT's Brittany Matthews' hat trick performance. Matthews also had one assist. The Patriots (3-2, 1-1 ASC) out-shot McM, 26-4, for the game.
McMurry goalkeeper Jordyn Gregory had nine saves in the game, seven in the first half alone. Gregory was charged for all nine goals. UTT net-minders Emily Hurley and Jade Crump combined for four saves versus McM.
