SHREVEPORT, La. – The McMurry University women's tennis team climbed above the .500 level in a big way, drubbing Centenary College, 9-0. The War Hawks improved to 5-4, while the Ladies remained winless at 0-10.
How dominating was McM? CC won a total of one game between the three doubles and six singles matches contested.
In doubles, all three tandems for the War Hawks won by 8-0 scores. At No. 1 doubles,
Bree Brosig and
Samantha Ritz played for McM. No. 2 was handled by
Chloe Patterson and
Madison Hathorn, while
Zayra Gomez and
Savannah McClure took care of matters at No. 3 doubles.
McMurry put the proverbial "double bagel" on the scoreboard - by scoring identical 6-0, 6-0 tallies at- the No.1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles matches. Only at the No. 2 singles bout did Centenary manage to win a game, where the War Hawks prevailed 6-0, 6-1.
Handling the singles sweep for McM – in order at Nos. 1-6 – was: Brosig, Ritz,
Symphony Munoz, Gomez,
Briana Perez and McClure.
The War Hawks will next face Mississippi College on Tuesday in a match played in Orange Beach, Ala.
