KERRVILLE, Texas – McMurry University women's tennis won its second-consecutive match on its weekend road trip, taking down Schreiner University, 6-3, at the Cree Tennis Complex. The War Hawks upped their record to 4-3, while the Mountaineers fell to 6-3. 
SU held the upper hand after winning two of three doubles bouts to open the day. The tandem of 
Chloe Patterson and 
Madison Hathorn – playing No. 2 doubles – was McM's lone pairs play winner. The team toppled Kelsey Buckowski and Katie Watts, 8-5. 
Thanks to a strong effort in singles, McM was able to pull ahead for the match win. The War Hawks claimed five of the six contests. 
McMurry took the Nos. 1-3 matches in straight sets. At No. 1, Patterson was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Alexandra Wheeler. No. 2 singles was handled by 
Bree Brosig's 6-2, 6-1 win over Karyn Swink, followed by 
Samantha Ritz – at No. 3 – with a 6-3, 6-2 tally over Abby Knedlik. 
The Mountaineers claimed their third team point at No. 4 singles. 
Hathorn was pitted against Buckowski at No. 5 singles, winning the first set, 6-3, and dropping the second, 6-3. Hathorn bounced back to take set three, 6-3. 
Likewise, 
Zayra Gomez earned a three-set victory at No. 6 singles over Kara Miller. After losing the first set 6-1, Gomez won the next two by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.
