LONGVIEW, Texas – McMurry University men's soccer closed out the 2016 season by playing a 1-1 double-overtime draw at LeTourneau University.  The War Hawks closed out the season with a 3-10-3 overall record.
 
The YellowJackets tallied first in the 17th minute and then took the 1-0 lead into the halftime locker room. McM knotted the match a 1-1 in the 50th minute when Martin Ornelas netted his third goal of the season off of a cross from Miguel Esteban Jr.
 
Neither team was able to add to their totals the rest of the way.  LETU kept the pressure on late in the match, as McM goalkeeper Alex Chavez had three saves in the second half and an additional three saves in the overtime periods. He finished the match with seven total saves.
 
The War Hawks out-shot the YellowJackets for the match, 22-17. Mike Cruz had five attempts, while Ornelas and Rafael Lara had four tries, each.
