Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Dave Beyer, McM Sports Information Director

Women's Soccer Defeated by UT Tyler

TYLER, Texas - McMurry University women's soccer took on No. 11-ranked UT Tyler - an NCAA Division III playoff team in 2014 – and found itself on the wrong end of a 10-0 final score at the Perkins Soccer Complex.

The Patriots improved to 5-0-1 on the year, out-scoring four home opponents by a combined 22-0 thus far in 2015. The War Hawks fell to 1-3 on the year.

McMurry also found itself at a severe disadvantage entering the match by playing without senior forward Holiday Williams. Williams – who ranks second on McM's career list for goals scored – received two yellow cards (thus also a red card) in last week's loss at University of the Southwest and had to sit out the contest versus the Patriots.

The dominant UTT display was evident in all aspects, as McM yielded a total of 54 shot to the hosts (24 of which were on-goal). McM failed to get off any shot attempts, as the Patriots kept the ball on McMurry's side of the pitch for most of the contest.

War Hawks' goalkeeper Simone Heinle had 14 saves on the afternoon. UTT led at the intermission, 7-0, and added three second-half scores.

McMurry will complete its string of three-consecutive road games on Saturday (Sept. 19) versus University of the Ozarks at 1 p.m. in Clarksville, Ark.
