Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – McMurry University's men's soccer team dropped its fourth match of the young 2015 season, falling at Huston-Tillotson University, 4-0.
The War Hawks (0-4) found themselves out-shot by the Rams' team, 25-11. McM put four shots on-goal – all of which were saved – while HTU had 12 shots on-goal. McM freshman goalkeeper
Austin Long notched eight saves.
The Rams scored twice in each period. HTU tallied in the 3rd and 30th minutes in the opening segment, and then again in the 57th and 70th minutes of the second. The War Hawks, literally, did not get the ball to bounce their way as the first two goals came off of the rebounds of shots that hit the post and crossbar. The third came on a penalty kick and the fourth off of a corner kick.
Zack Smith had four of McM's shot attempts in the setback. Martin Orneals and
Eduardo Zuluaga had two shots, each.
The War Hawks will look to right the ship next Thursday (Sept 17) at UT-Tyler (7 p.m.).
