BELTON, Texas – McMurry University women's tennis capped the 2015 regular season with its seventh shutout of the year – extending its winning streak to seven, as well – with a 9-0 road win at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The War Hawks improved to 15-3 overall.
Winning at doubles for the War Hawks was
Dana LeMieux and
Jessica Bentley at the No. 1 position, 8-2. At No. 2 pairs, the sophomore tandem of
Chloe Patterson and
Madison Hathorn posted an 8-4 victory to improve their record to a team-best 16-2. UMHB defaulted at third doubles.
The War Hawks six singles players all easily rolled to wins in straight sets, as well. At No. 1, Patterson won by a 6-0, 6-1 count, followed at No. 2 by LeMieux's 6-3, 6-0 win.
Bentley took care of matters at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1. At No. 4, sophomore
Bree Brosig continued her juggernaut campaign, winning by a 6-3, 6-1 score and improving her singles record to 17-1 in 2015.
At the No. 5 slot,
Gabby Camacho won 6-3, 6-1, before UMHB defaulted at No. 6 singles for the final 9-0 match score.
