MARSHALL, Texas – The 2015 spring women's tennis season got underway for the McMurry University women's team with a 6-3 road victory over East Texas Baptist University at the Veterans Memorial Tennis Courts.
 
The War Hawks (1-0) took a 2-1 lead in the team score by winning two of three doubles matches to open the day. At No. 2 doubles, Dana LeMieux and Bree Brosig garnered an 8-4 decision over Sierra Pizzarro and Jabree McClaine. At No. 3, the freshman tandem of Gabby Camacho and Savannah McClure topped the Tigers' Desha Ellis and Shavonne Nuall, 8-2.
 
In No. 1 singles, McM sophomore Chloe Patterson won in straight sets over Kate Bramlett, 6-2, 7-5, 10-8. Brosig took a convincing win at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1 over Pizzarro, while Madison Hathorn also cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.  Camacho's 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles rounded out McMurry's wins.
