Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Dave Beyer, McM Sports Information Director

Women's Soccer Falls to UMHB

ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University's women's soccer team was touched up for five first half goals on its way to a 9-0 loss to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at Wilford Moore Stadium. The setback left the War Hawks with a 2-7-2 overall record, while the Crusaders improved to 7-3-1 on the year.

UMHB locked down the War Hawks' offense by not permitting the hosts a shot attempt all match long. The Cru, conversely, took 27 shots with 17 on-goal.  McM goalkeeper Simone Heinle had eight saves and was charged with all nine goals.

McMurry was also outdone in corner kicks (8-0) by UMHB.

The Cru scored their five first-half goals in bunches.  UMHB tallied in the 8th and 9th minutes to lead 2-0. The visitors then added three more, one each in the 17th, 19th and 20th minutes of play.

McMurry's road gets no easier next week as the team travels across town to face Hardin-Simmons University next Saturday at 1 p.m.
