Volleyball Stretches Win Skein to Three; Tops Dallas Christian, 3-0

Box Score ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University volleyball ran its current win streak to three matches, thanks to its 3-0 victory over Dallas Christian College at Kimbrell Arena. The War Hawks (9-5) won by scores of 25-11, 25-9 and 25-8.
 
The win was also McMurry's seventh sweep of an opponent, and third-consecutive blanking.  McM also knocked off Howard Payne and LeTourneau in straight sets last Saturday.
 
The McM team was firing on all cylinders against an over matched Crusaders (2-11) team. The
War Hawks set a school record for highest attack percentage in a match, registering a .567 (39 kills, 5 errors, 60 attempts). The previous best was .522 versus Rust College in 1999.
 
Junior Catherine Heath led the McM attack with 12 kills and a .733 attack percentage for the night. Heath is coming off of a record attack effort last Saturday versus Howard Payne, when she hit a school record .857 in the match.
 
Senior Kayla Hines added 10 kills in 14 attempts, with no errors, for a .714 attack percentage, herself. Sophomore Katy Headrick contributed six kills, all three blocks by the McM team and three service aces. On the year, Headrick has 36 aces (nearly three times more than anyone else on the War Hawks' squad).
 
Setter Morgan Thomas gave off 22 assists in the match. Jessica Tennis added nine assists. Jessica Cory had five assists and 11 digs.
