SAN ANTONIO, Texas – McMurry's women's tennis team saw its win streak reach four matches on Saturday morning with a 5-4 win over Texas A&M University-Kingsville, but come to an end in an afternoon loss to Trinity University, 5-1.
 
In its first match of the day, it was a case of "a little child shall lead them," as McM earned its fourth-consecutive victory by downing the Javelinas in the A.M. It was the lower portion of the War Hawks order which carried the load versus TAMUK. McM won at No. 3 doubles and the Nos. 3-6 singles bouts, and all the points came from the War Hawks' freshmen players.
 
In doubles, it was the Chole Patterson and Madison Hathorn salvaging a team point for McM by defeating Eleni Anastasova/Alexandra Carrillo of TAMUK, 8-0. The Javelinas won the Nos. 1 and 2 contests, taking the 2-1 lead heading into singles action.
 
TAMUK won both No. 1 and No. 2 singles in straight sets.  However, the young McMurry team returned the favor at the Nos. 4-6 slots with wins from Hathorn, Bree Brosig and Allie Hawkins.
 
The match decider came via Patterson, who came out on top in a three-set match at No. 3 singles. Patterson dropped set one to TAMUK's Tabata Lua Cervantes, 6-1, but bounced back to win the second, 6-4. In the deciding third-set tiebreaker, Patterson rolled to a 10-5 win.

In the P.M. match versus Trinity, McMurry's lone win came from Lauren Renner and Shayne Cook at No. 1 doubles. The pair defeated the Tigers' tandem of Kathleen Lundquist and Kristy Hamilton, 8-4.
 
Three matches went unfinished after TU clinched the victory, due to a rain delay pushing back the start time.

McM is now 5-11 on the year.
