ABILENE, Texas – McMurry women's tennis closed out the regular season with a home, non-conference, victory over cross-town foe Hardin-Simmons University at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center.
The War Hawks finished the 2014 regular season with a 7-13 record. McM will next be in action on Thursday (Apr. 24) afternoon versus Dallas Baptist University in the first round of the National Christian College Athletic Association Central Region championships, being hosted by McMurry.
The War Hawks took two of three doubles matches from the Cowgirls. McM won the No. 1 match, where
Lauren Renner and
Shayne Cook defeated HSU's Genene Haddad and Jasmine Briant, 8-0. The win tied the Renner-Cook team for the most doubles victories this season for the McM, with seven.
McMurry's
Sheri Copenhaver and
Chloe Patterson didn't have too much trouble gaining the win at No. 3 doubles either, winning over Alynna Phouthakhio and Kacie Berutti, 8-2.
The War Hawks would then go on to win five of six singles contests. All five of the McM victories were in straight sets, as well. Renner and Cook won at the Nos. 2 and 3 positions. Chole Patterson,

Autumn Patterson would secure the wins at the Nos. 4-6 bouts.
